While the world may well have reached an inflection point on transportation electrification and renewable energy technologies, successful navigation of the “mid-transition” years is far from assured. In fact, the transition will require adeptly responding to new and existing energy security challenges and supply chain vulnerabilities.
Historic legislation passed over the last several years is a great first step, but it must be properly implemented to realize the intended benefits. However, long-term success largely hinges on the ability to quickly scale new technologies, both materials and final products, that is predominantly dependent on autocracies.
